How did 3 months go by so very fast?? How did I manage not to accomplish so many things that I had intended on doing this summer. Not one day at the beach??!! Not one day on the boardwalk??!! For shame...what kind of Jersey Girl, am I??!!

Family Reunion and Beautiful Flowers

Saturday was my mom's family reunion party at our house. It went well and her family (mostly cousins) were really nice and everyone had an awesome time.

I was surprised with a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent to me by MY cousin, Alex. I had sent his resume to a friend where I used to work. Well, long story short, he was interviewed and he got the job! He sent me these beautiful flowers as a thank you!

They were truly the most beautiful flowers I have ever rec'd and the picture doesn't do them justice.

Happy 1st Birthday in Heaven

Today's Uncle Freddy's birthday. I hope he is somewhere fishing off his boat with my Grandpa! :)

A new school year is set to begin

We received Jake's class assignment yesterday. I was happy to see he got the teacher that I wanted him to have. She's an older lady and I think Jake will do well with a more "established" teacher. School starts Sept. 7...first time for all day school & lunch in the caf! Oh, how I hope he isn't too nervous. We found out that his two best buds from our block are in 2 different classes as well...it's going to be hard on J & O not having P to lean on..but it will be good for all of them! :)

Back from AC

We are back from a rainy two days in Atlantic City. We stopped in Historic Smithville for lunch. It was such a shame that is was raining. What a quaint little town. I would have liked to take Jake into all the shops and maybe ride the big SWAN on the little lake. They will be having a nice Oktober fest the first week of October so maybe we will take a ride down for the day.

We stayed at the Tropicana. Since the casinos are now NON-SMOKING, there were tons of children there. I was always against taking kids to AC but there are alot of things to do with children (IF IT"S NOT RAINING, THAT IS)

We did go to a couple of magic shows. We saw a really good one with Franz.Harary . He was quite entertaining.

We also walked to the Mall on the boardwalk in the pouring rain. We went to this store called It'Sugar. OH, MY..it's a candy fanatic's dream. Every kind of candy ever made was in this store...I got a couple of chocolate bars with POP Rocks right in the chocolate...IT was so cool and very yummy. I had to get some Razzles! I haven't had them in years! Jake got candy shaped like legos and my mom got Mallomars. :)

We didn't win any money, but we had a wonderful dinner at Verdi. YUM!! It was a nice little getaway, but I really wish we could have went to the beach and the amusement area...Maybe next time. :)

This is a l/o of my two BFFS, Tracey & Peggy. We have been friends for over 20 years. The bottom picture was taken on our way to my wedding reception in 1994. The top picture was taken at Tracey's house this past March.

Photosensitization

This is the diagnosis. The dr. looked at my brown splotch on the side of my left knee. I told him that it just showed up out of the blue while I was on vacation last month. He said "let me ask you this..did you have anything to drink or eat with lemon or lime juice?" Now, I thought that was a funny question, because if he knew me, he would know that I like to drink Bloody Mary's with Lime. So I laughed and said "Of course!" He said "Why of course?" I said " Well, I was on vacation & had many Bloody Mary's with lime" So then he says that I must have spilled or wiped the lime juice on my leg while I was sitting out in the sun and the reaction of the lime and the sun caused this mark on my leg. Have you ever heard of anything like this before??! I haven't. But I was so very, very relieved. He gave me some cream to put on my leg and said that as my tan fades, so will this splotch! What a relief !! Of course, I was thinking the worst, especially since it was such an odd shape.

So the moral to the story, friends is this: Don't spill lemon or lime juice on your skin and sit in the sun!! :)

Awesome night and seeing the doctor

The concert was so awesome last night. Tom & I had such a great time. It was nice to be out alone together. Tom said "You did good, babe!" So I know his birthday present was a success.

I haven't seen that many long-haired men in one place since 1987. :) It was quite funny.

Foreigner was awesome, Styx was good (not a big fan) and Def Leppard were fabulous!! I should have brought my camera because we had really good seats in the VIP section.


On a much heavier note, I'm going to the skin doctor tonight to have this "mark" looked at on my leg. I'm scared! :( Will update on what the dr. says tomorrow.

Finally tickets arrived

I ordered tickets to see Def Leppard, Foreigner & Styx for my husband's birthday. I ordered these tickets in MAY...they came FED EX today. The concert is tomorrow! They did send upgraded tickets which is very cool! I wonder if I can take my camera. I'd love to be able to scrapbook our little night out. We haven't been to a concert in over 7 years!

Yesterday we had a birthday crop at Carol's. What a blast! Those girls crack me up...thank you, Carol, Lisa H, Val, Karen, Gail, Eve, Kellie, Diane, & Jane for a great day! Lots of laughs, good friends & scrapping to boot...what a better way to spend a day! :)
