A Very Busy Week

with no time to blog...:(

Jake had his first CCD class this past week. First sign of being a bad Catholic hit me. At church, we stood to pray and when we did the sign of the cross, Jake looked at me with a terrified look on his face and said "I don't know how to do that!" UGH!! I never thought to teach him the basics...we practiced when we got home and he is a signing pro now!

Jake also started Tiger Cubs this past week. His best buddy PJ is in his den. They are going to have a lot of fun together. My little guy is growing up way too fast! ;)

I had three scrap meetings this past week. Two at the Library and one at Carol's house. Made 3 cool scrapping projects ~~stay tuned for pictures! :)

It's Sunday, Jake is in the bath, I'm in my jammies and ready for bed! I hope this week is a little less hectic so I can take some time to relax.

Back To School Night

Last night, dh & I went to Jake's school to meet his teacher. She is such a doll. Never in my life did I see so much STUFF in one classroom...she has learning spaces everywhere. Even her learning spaces have learning spaces! And I can tell that the Laminator machine is her friend! Every handout she gave to us was laminated. They all drew self portraits, and those were laminated. The little fish where she wrote the supplies that we could donate to the class were laminated! And everything in the class was just so, everything had labels. And I mean EVERYTHING!! Extremely organized! A lady after my own heart! ♥

Apple Picking

It was a beautiful weekend. Saturday Moose took Jake to the park with some neighbors and went fishing in the pond. Jake caught a huge bass. Of course, I forgot to send my camera with dh! :( But Moose did take a pic with his cellphone...so cool! ;)

Sunday, was apple picking day...the only day we were free this month to do it...NO JONATHONS at all. So I had to get Golden Delicious & Empires. Used the Golden Delicious to make a pie. The Best & Easiest Recipe for an Apple Pie: The one on the Pillsbury Pie Crust Box!

Fall is in the air and a movie review

Finally cool weather is here...OOH, I just love Fall! Cool Crisp, Sweatshirt Weather and good hair days!! :)

Rented a couple of movies today...got to watch the Perfect Stranger with Halle Berry & Bruce Willis...Bruce still has that smoldering sexy look! :)

It was really good...didn't have a clue how it was going to turn out. Love me a good thriller! :)

Need Prayers for a Friend

If you are of the praying kind, please keep my friend Karri, her dd Caroline and the rest of their family in your prayers. They received some not so good news regarding Caroline's biopsy yesterday! There is great power in prayer, I totally believe that!

Something new for the bedroom

Nothing like that!! Jake has wanted a lava lamp for ages. Finally got him one for his room...he has been spending lots of time in his room watching the waxy balls go float from the bottom to the top and back again. Now if I can just get him to sleep in his room, we'd be golden! :)

Went to a Fair

This past weekend we went to our Church's fair. It was a bit cheesy, but we got to spend some family time together...now if I could just get to Mass on Sundays!

First 2 days down...

It's Saturday! The first 1/2 day of school is over, & the first full day of school is now a memory. Jake did wonderfully both days. He had some butterflies the second day as well but it was going to be the first time eatting in the caf. They didn't give him his milk so my poor baby didn't have anything to drink with his lunch. Gotta write a note for Mon. I will also be adding an extra drink, JIC! He has 2 days of Gym now. I don't know the rest of his schedule yet~~~maybe next week!

7am is really early!! I have begun the purge of the junk!

On Thursday, I cleaned out the closet under my stairs...why did I keep vacuum cleaner bags that I don't even have the vaccum that used them anymore??! why do I need 100 plastic cup with the straws that you get at amusement parks, birthday party places and such??? You never ever use them again...so why not just threw them away at the parks...it's on my mental list to do! ;)

On Friday, I started tackling the family room! Started, because I got too bored to finish, but I have 178 days to get it done, so I didn't feel badly stopping before it was dejunkified! The book shelf, the end tables, & one of the toy drawers are done...still about 5 more toy drawers to do.

For the first time in 6 years, I think I will start looking forward to weekends again. Before, it was just another day, but not having Jake here all day, keeping myself busy cleaning all day, I now will have weekends to kick back, relax and do nothing! Thank Goodness for Saturdays!

First Day of School

Jake's 1st day of 1st grade!! Woohoo!! He was a tad nervous but did great! No tears, no whining, no moping. He had a nervous smile, but that's to be expected. I just told him that everyone has butterflies on the 1st day. Have fun and enjoy...and most of all BE GOOD! :)

Last Unofficial Friday of Summer

On the last Friday before Labor Day weekend, we had a little gathering to "celebrate" the end of summer. Even though the kids don't like to celebrate this day, the mommies sure love it! What's that Staples song??! "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! " :)
