Self Portraits

I always giggle and roll my eyes when seeing self portraits either on other people's blogs or in someone's l/o gallery or in a scrap magazine. I think to myself "How self-centered are we??!" Especially the ones where the person has their face all sucked in with their lips puckered ala Elsie. It looked cute the first time I saw it but it gets old after 100 different people take a self portrait with the same face on. Well, I guess you can call me self-centered because I took a self-portrait myself. I wanted to see (1) if I could do it without cutting the top of my head off, cutting my chin off or only getting 1/2 of my face (2) I wanted to get a picture of my haircut (3) It's always nice to see the face behind the camera...every once in awhile...so here I am in, self-centeredness aside! ;)

First Game

First game was Sunday. It was freezing at the fields. The bleachers are metal..not good on the heiny, especially when they are COLD!! Gotta remember my scrapping cushion for the next game. Well, Jake didn't do as badly as I thought he would. He did get hit by the ball while they were practicing. NO SURPRISE! He played outfield and catcher. When he played catcher, it was the funniest thing. He was head to toe covered with equipment and still moved away from the ball everytime the batter didn't hit it. Too funny! The highlight of the game was that he ran in the first run for his team. We were so proud! They won 6 -2. There is one kid on the team that is so adorable and so good! For all you 7th Heaven fans, he looks just like Simon did when he was little. I always loved Simon...he was my favorite Camden!!

They are all really adorable to watch. I'm just so thankful that the 2 times Jake was up to bat, he hit the ball..made it home once and was out at 2nd base. He even said it was fun, except for getting hit with the ball. :) Here are some pics...they are not that great because they play on a huge field and keep the parents far away from the play area. Guess they want to keep those nutso sports moms and dads as far away as possible. ;)

Having Laptop Troubles

Not fun!! Here are the other pictures I tried to put in my previous post.

some blogger noteworthies..

I have been very bad to my blog. So much has happened and I haven't even written a word.

Hmm, let's start by saying I can feel Spring in the air. Even though it's extremely cloudy today.

Went to an awesome crop at the end of March. I won 3 prizes, one being a bag of scratch off tickets and I won $42!! Not too bad! Then I turn in a $10 winning scratchoff and got 2 more that turned into $150!! Even better! ;) Got a haircut and the MM Embellishment center that I have been wanting badly! Jake saw the Embellishment center when he came home from school and said " And what did you do to deserve that..." Fresh KID!!

Jake learned how to ride his bike NO TRAINING WHEELS! While on Spring Break, our neighbor took Jake and his 2 kids down to the beach bike trail and taught him in about 5 minutes! I am in debt to him, now! ;) Jake has been riding every chance he can get. My big boy!!

Baseball has started here but we still haven't played our first game due to rain and a messed up field. Jake is not going to be the next Jetter, that is for sure. I think he hates it, actually. He gets hit with the ball every single practice so now I think he is afraid of the ball. Can't very well catch a ball when you have yoru eyes closed! Oh, well, only 12 games to go before he wont have to play anymore!

Only 4 more CCD classes. Yahoo! They learn NOTHING in those classes. This past week, I asked Jake what he did in class...they played Simon Says, Hangman and 7-up!! NICE!! Its not an aftercare class, for goodness sakes...Oh, I forgot, they said ONE prayer! UGH!! Can you tell I'm hating my decision of starting him in CCD, even more now.

Well, I'm going to post some pics to go along with this entry. Thanks for visiting...:)
